Suffolk Record Office is based in Bury St Edmunds Ipswich and Lowestoft; the latter is also Lowestoft Library. The oldest documents in the collection date back to the 12th century and you'll find material relating to both individuals and organisations such as the County Council local authorities churches chapels estates schools hospitals businesses families clubs and societies. There's also a substantial collection of historic local newspapers.

Musée Carnavalet (Carnavalet Museum)

Opened in 1880 and devoted to the history of Paris this museum is spread over two adjoining mansions and features an impressive collection of French Revolutionary memorabilia art objects and furniture recreating private residences between the 15th and 19th centuries. There is also a room devoted to drawings prints and photographs documenting the city's heritage.

The Alfred Corry Museum

Housed in the old Cromer Lifeboat shed this museum offers an insight into the lives of Southwold lifeboat crews between 1893 and 1918. The centrepiece of the museum is the lifeboat Alfred Corry condemned in 1918 but now undergoing restoration.
