Weirdly, I have the identical picture of the two men who it turns out are Carole Vorderman's great grandfather Daniel Davies and his brother, in papers that belonged to my great grandmother, and had always assumed that the man on the right - Daniel - was my great grandfather. I also have a picture of him with my grand father. I wonder what the connection could be?

That sounds fascinating. We'll be doing follow ups to the series so we are keen to hear about any connections or discoveries made about the series.

I'm still amazed at the stories that emerge in these programmes - the story regarding her grandfather and the nobel prize for medicine was incredible. The research that goes in to this series is brilliant.

indeed that cannot be questioned but to me the series tries to tell us that these celeb's are doing the donkey work themselves, which they clearly are not and we are paying for all these researchers!
BBC if I send you what I have discovered about my tree so far can you give it to your team to do the leg work for me????

But sav would you really want all your skeletons broadcast on prime time TV? I for one don't envy the celebs having a team of researchers poking about in their past! [;)]

A similar, though altogether far better series was the Bloodties series broadcast in 2000. That series featured members of the public who had a "famous ancestor".
It was that series which introduced the then "desperate to be on tv" researcher to our screens. ;) the rest as they say is history.

I live in Bristol, where I believe the show is produced, and would be happy to show you the pictures I have if you do follow up on the show.
All the best,
Kate

Has anyone heard a rumour that Carol Vorderman is to be the new co-host of the next series of the BBC Sunday morning show 'Something for the Weekend' ??

Thanks.

Louise Redknapp has just taken over on the show. I haven't heard any rumours about Carol Vorderman presenting it.

Jamie Redknapp's family history might be a good one for WDYTYA? It would be interesting to see where his parents inherited their talents from.
