I hope someone may be able to help me learn of my grandfather's part in WW1. He was born in Wilton Sq, Islington in 1880 and married Florry in 1901. I know that he served in the Great War but have not been able to find out anything more. According to the National roll (which quotes the correct address) he was in the Essex regt but the regimental achives have no record of him. I have searched documents online and at TNA to no avail. I believe he was injured in France and was taken to Netley hospital at Southampton. He returned to his trade as a printer and died in 1956 in Edmonton, London.
